Education Minister to discuss university/TAFE merger

12.20pm: EDUCATION Minister John-Paul Langbroek has pointed the finger back at Prime Minister Julia Gillard and Federal Education Minister Chris Evans in the debate over the CQUniversity/TAFE merger.

Mr Langbroek says the State Government is waiting for the Federal Government to sign off.

His comments come after Mr Evans last week claimed the merger would not go ahead because the State Government would not commit to ongoing funding.

7.45am: EDUCATION Minister John-Paul Langbroek will be attending CQUniversity, Rockhampton, this morning with the university/TAFE merger on the agenda.

Mr Langbroek's visit to the region follows claims from the Australian Labor Party Federal Education Minister Chris Evans that the merger would not go ahead as the Liberal National Party State Government refused to commit to ongoing funding.
