An eager role model determined to make a difference
TAMIKA Palmer is determined to make a difference to the future of indigenous youth.
She will take part in the Queensland Indigenous Youth Leadership Program, in Brisbane from June 30-July 5.
Tamika said she was excited about the opportunity, and had the full support of her family and her employer, the Gladstone Ports Corporation.
"I found out about the program through the indigenous liaison officer at my work, and from what I had read it was a program I was very interested in," Ms Palmer said.
"It is very important to me for the younger generation to have strong role models; I was brought up with strong models throughout my schooling life."
Ms Palmer said she was determined to have a voice in the community.
