Drunk banned from hotel after abusing police
A FIFO worker felt the wrath of the law after drunken behaviour landed him in Gladstone Magistrates Court on August 26.
Trevor Lokeni Sio entered an early plea of guilty to one charge of committing a public nuisance, and another for failing to leave a licensed premises.
In actions labelled by Magistrate Penelope Hay as "extremely foolish", Sio allegedly refused to vacate the Reef Hotel on the evening of August 3.
Around 1.40am, the defendant was reported to security as having pushed people around in the male toilets.
Security guards asked the defendant to leave, but Sio launched a tirade of profanities.
The guards flagged down a police car and the defendant then hurled abuse at police.
He was promptly arrested and taken to the watchhouse.
Magistrate Hay slammed the defendant's actions in his latent lack of respect for security guards, and then police.
Sio was fined $600 and banned from entering the Reef Hotel until 2015.
