Delays build after two-vehicle smash on Bruce Hwy on-ramp

UPDATE: 3PM: Paramedics took a person to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition following a two-vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway on-ramp at Meridan Plains.

EARLIER: Heavy traffic delays are to be expected on the Bruce Highway after a two-vehicle crash on an on-ramp at Meridan Plains.

Emergency services responded to the crash in the northbound lanes past the Caloundra Rd overpass about 1.50pm.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said one crew was on scene assessing two people for minor injuries.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads has reported one lane of the highway is blocked to traffic and that delays are expected.
