CSG Globe to provide info, details on water monitoring

THE Queensland Government will throw open the shutters on water monitoring around coal seam gas, unveiling its "Coal Seam Gas Globe" project overnight.

Users will be able to view information on gas wells and water bores across the state, including details on properties and communities.

It will cover a network of 300 water bores, wells and resource tenures as well as water monitoring data.

The data uses Google Earth to show CSG wells, petrol wells, plus all tenure information and exploration permits.

Mines Minister Andrew Cripps revealed the project ahead of a CSG information day planned for Roma today.
