Crowd says cheers
THERE were fewer revellers in lederhosen at Oktoberfest this year, but this didn't dampen the enthusiasm.
About 200 beer-lovers at the traditional German spring festival enjoyed live music, bratwurst and chicken dancing to the music of the Gladstone Municipal Band.
"Our numbers were significantly down on last year," organiser Jodie Williams of Rotaract said.
"But we did okay. We've raised a good sum for the Gladstone Palliative Care Ward and Rotary's Polio Plus program and that's what it's all about," she said.
The winner of best costume on the night eschewed lederhosen and came dressed as a beer can.
