Mural inspires up-and-coming tattoo artist

COURTNEY Wynne is an up-and-coming tattoo artist, and painting a large, detailed mural has made her all the more motivated.

The 16-year-old Toolooa State High School student (pictured front, third from left) joined 16 other students and put their art skills to the test yesterday for almost five hours.

Students transformed a dull wall at the Martin Hanson Building at CQUniversity into beach-meets-jungle display for university students to enjoy.

Courtney said she thoroughly enjoyed the project.

"I have done art every year at school. I am a drawer," she said.

"When I get older I want to work in Brisbane as a tattoo artist with my uncle."

Art teacher Laura-Jane MacNamara was impressed by her students' talent and their co-operation.

"It's showing them art as a career opportunity as well as volunteering which they can put on their resume," she said.
