Community groups get help
ATTRACTING financial sponsors can be one of the most difficult issues faced by non-profit community groups.
But local consultancy company Amarna Pty Ltd is about to make things easier by offering an opportunity for non- profit community groups to create sponsorship packages that have the ability to attract financial sponsors.
The company is inviting organisational representatives to attend the Winning Sponsorship Workshop being hosted in Gladstone on Wednesday, February 1 from 6pm-9pm.
Amarna Pty Ltd director Crystal McGregor said there had been a lot of recent demand from organisations for support and advice with sponsorship.
"We understand that organisations are struggling with volunteers and don't have the budget to pay someone to create a professional sponsorship package, so we are providing an opportunity for these organisations to learn how to do this at a heavily reduced rate," Ms McGregor said. "Workshop participants will go through a process of actually developing a sponsorship strategy. At the end of the workshop organisations will have enough information and tools to complete their individualised package to sell straight to potential sponsors."
Ms McGregor said non-profit organisations should not just rely on the oversubscribed funding programs to meet financial needs as they need to ensure they have a range of financial support.
She said sponsorship can also provide more longevity to financial support (three-year sponsorship arrangements) rather than one-off funding grants.
