CLOSING DOWN: Toowoomba store shuts its doors

A TOOWOOMBA toy store is closing its doors after moving stores last year.

Savvy Toys originally operated on the corner of Ruthven and Campbell Sts before closing its doors in March last year.

The plan was to go mobile but owner Lucy Halliday decided to open another store, in a small warehouse format at 3/45 Stephen St, after there were so many complaints the store was closing.

For the past 16 months Savvy Toys has been operating for three days a week but since July Ms Halliday has been looking for a new owner to take over the store.

Being unsuccessful in finding a new owner Ms Halliday just delivered the sad news she will be closing her doors for good.

Ms Halliday said on Facebook: "It's with great sadness that I've decided to close the doors at Savvy Toys (this time for good). I have literally run out of time and just cannot do it all any longer. My life gets busier each day lately."

Her post was met with many cries of disappointment.

Joanne Wyton said: "I'm so sorry to hear that. Good luck with your next adventure."

Maddy Hensel said: "These guys have great quality educational toys. Sad to see them closing."

Amanda Harpur said: "Aw Lucy such a shame, definitely interested in snapping up some bargains for Christmas though."

Savvy Toys has 40% off all stock in store, just in time for Christmas shopping.

The store has wooden toys, educational toys, games and gifts, as well as scooters and bikes.

It also have dolls houses, instruments, trucks and trains in stock.

The sale will run for two weeks or until stock is sold out.

Savvy Toys is open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9.30am to 4pm.
