A WOMAN in her 50s has been plucked from Mt Coolum after suffering a "cardiac condition" that required medical help.

RACQ Careflight took the call for help about 10.30am on Friday, immediately dispatching the helicopter from Maroochydore.

Once on scene, the chopper's paramedic was lowered to the woman where he was able to assess her condition.

She was then winched into the helicopter inside a rescue basket before being taken to Nambour General Hospital in a stable condition.

Emergency services on the ground weren't able to reach the woman due to the isolated location.

Once on scene, the QAS Flight Intensive Care Paramedic on-board CareFlight's helicopter was winched down to the patient.

The woman was flown to CareFlight's Maroochydore base, where she was stabilised and transferred to a stretcher.

She was then airlifted to Nambour General Hospital in a stable condition.
