Demand grows for limo service in Gladstone
THE demand for a limousine service in Gladstone is running high, with a number of high-profile clients trying to get a Rockhampton company to drive them around the harbour city.
Gladstone has been without a limousine service since the Boyne Island service stopped operating, with the closest service available 120km away in Rockhampton.
Business Class Limousine service owner John Gladwell said he was licensed to drive anywhere in the Capricorn region, but could only pick up in Rockhampton.
"I've had a reasonable number of people going to Gladstone from Rockhampton," Mr Gladwell said.
"Some people have called from Tannum and Boyne Island, but we are restricted from the Gladstone pick-up. We cannot pick up in that area."
Mr Gladwell usually gets requests for pick-up at Gladstone Airport, with most clients company chief executives and board members.
His company also sub-contracts to the federal government.
