Chelsea Baker stars in big Wallabys win

RUGBY LEAGUE: Australian Jillaroo Chelsea Baker was the star for Wallabys scoring three tries in a 30-0 over Rockhampton Brothers women at Marley Brown Oval on Saturday.

Leading 18-0 at half-time, Wallabys rarely looked trouble during the five-tries-to-nil victory, with Baker taking home a personal tally of 22 points after kicking five from five with the boot.

Forwards Hollie Brimrose and Rikarra Benjamin were the other try scorers for Wallabys.

Wallabys' win has them move to second place on the Rockhampton Women's Rugby League table, one point behind Emu Park who enjoyed a big win over Calliope.

"It's only my second daytime game of the season so it was really good weather and awesome to come away with the win,” Baker said.

"We didn't expect this scoreline at all because we drew 12-all against them last time, but I didn't get to play in that game so it was really good to come out and have such a dominant win.”

Baker will now join the Queensland Maroons camp as an ambassador in the lead-up to Origin on Wednesday.

The second women's match was all one-way traffic with Emu Park rarely looking troubled against the Calliope Roosters women.

Emu Park opened up a 26-6 lead at half-time which was clawed back to 26-10 four minutes into the second half when Roosters winger Sarah Dyer found the line.

However, the Emus went on to score a further 14 unanswered points to secure a 40-10 victory.

Frances Whap scored the opening try for the Roosters which was converted by fullback Jean Van Vegchel.

The Roosters remain sixth on the RWRL table at the conclusion of Round 9.
