Celebrating the final year of the Lamborghini Gallardo
2013 is the last year of the Gallardo, and to celebrate the ending of an era I now present to you the newest Gallardo available, the 2013 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 that was spotted at Lamborghini Brisbane.
Last week I featured the 2010 Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni, which was a tribute to Lamborghini's famous test driver, Valentino Balboni. That version was equipped with a 5.2-litre, 40 valve V10 engine that could produce 405 kilowatts and 540 Newton metres of torque.
This all-new Gallardo is equipped with the same engine as the old LP560-4, which is a tuned version of the LP550-2 engine. This engine produces 412 kilowatts (560 horsepower) at 8000rpm and 538 Newton metres of torque (397 pound-feet of torque) at 6500rpm.
Connected to the engine is a six-speed automated-manual transmission, with manual shifting paddles behind the steering wheel, which then sends all the power to all-four wheels.
Also, this particular model has a curb weight of around 1410 kilograms. This allows for the 2013 Gallardo LP560-4 to launch from 0-100 kilometres per hour in just 3.7 seconds, and it will keep accelerating until it reaches its top speed of 325 kilometres per hour (202 miles per hour).
This new Gallardo was first released at the Paris Auto Show in the September of 2012, and first went on sale in Australia in January this year.
When it was released, critics stated that the bumpers didn't look that great, but I think they look amazing. The front of the Gallardo just looks plain angry, and it's a warning to get out of its way. All of the triangular lines aren't just for show though; they also improve aerodynamics and airflow.
Some other updates include completely redesigned rims with precision-machined spokes and the interior is also updated with colour coding, as you can see in the photo above with the white stripe running horizontally from one door panel to the other.
Some other features that this particular Lamborghini is equipped with includes variable intermittent wipers, a small electric raising rear spoiler, a front and rear stabilizer bar, beautiful Nero Serapis paint, a transparent engine bonnet with LED's, a reversing camera, a front lifting system for speed bumps and driveways, four-wheel ABS as well as traction and stability control, a travel package with electric and heated leather sport seats and much more.
You can currently buy this exact 2013 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 from Lamborghini Brisbane for about $500,000 and if you are interested, be sure to visit their website www.lamborghini-brisbane.com/
