Live artist will paint bands, crowd at music festival

AGNES Water resident Bob Gammage specialises in capturing moments and replicating them on canvas.

The live artist will make six canvases from Agnes Blues Roots and Rock Festival, painted during artist performances.

Mr Gammage, an artist of 20 years, paints at community events, weddings and live music performances.

He is booked every year for Agnes Blues Roots and Rock Festival, where he recreates the crowd's excitement and the bands' energy. "My art is to step into the community and transfer the energy on to the canvas to allow people to momentarily have a touch of meditation and to realise that the world really is a beautiful place," Mr Gammage said.

"It's just important for me to capture every moment.

"I'm more of a composer ... What's really important is the communities who put on a celebration."

Mr Gammage is one of many alternative attractions at the festival.

There will also be artist workshops and market stalls.

"The fact that I get to paint the public and step into someone's moments to capture the atmosphere using brush strokes is what I love," Mr Gammage said.
