Calliope worker faces theft charges over $20,000 in goods
A CALLIOPE hotel worker accused of stealing from his workplace will reappear in Gladstone Magistrates Court on October 3 to face charges.
It had been alleged he stole more than $20,000 goods, however Mitchell Joseph Betts admitted to stealing over $3600 on Monday, enabling the prosecution to continue with their case.
Betts will reappear at 10am on October 3 to face charges of fraudulent omission of entry in record, and stealing by clerks and servants.
Also in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Monday:
- Boe-Daniel Lanard Blunt will reappear via video link at 2pm on September 30 to face a range of drugs charges, including trafficking, possession of dangerous drugs and stealing.
- Conlan James Kapay was remanded in custody to reappear for summary review via video link after he pleaded not guilty to charges of assault occasioning bodily harm, evading a fare and going armed to cause fear.
- Dale George Johnson was remanded in custody to reappear at 2pm on October 14, charged with a range of offences including one count of killing or injuring police dogs and horses, as well as others, including serious assault.
