Cabs off the rank

THE queue at the taxi rank will hopefully be a little shorter from now on.

Gladstone's Blue and White Taxis have introduced two new maxi taxis to its fleet to cope with growing demand, which is at its peak at weekends.

Blue and White Taxi director chairman Allan Rowe said the new vehicles would provide an extra 20 seats per trip on a busy Friday or Saturday night.

The taxis are also wheelchair accessible.

The taxis will be run by Gladstone locals that are contracted to Gladstone Blue and White Taxis.

Mr Rowe said he hoped the new maxi taxis would be operating in the city this weekend.
