Beautician Brooke ‘Revells’ in motorbikes
BROOKE Revell is studying to be a beautician and works in hospitality.
However, the niceties of both professions are put aside when she tackles the dirt track at the Gladstone District Dirtriders Club most weekends here or at Lowmead.
Twenty-three-year-old Revell took up the sport of motorbike riding six months ago when her boyfriend Nick Davey was racing competitively.
"He's been doing it for a while, so I joined and he gives me plenty of tips," Revell said.
Revell joined other beginner riders during Saturday's female-only club sign-on day and jumping on her Kawasaki KLX 140 gives her a kick.
"I enjoy it because of the adrenaline it gives me and I try to go riding every second weekend," Revell said.
As with most things that people are not familiar with initially, there are mishaps that occur.
"I stacked it plenty of times when I first started and my legs have plenty of scars," Revell added.
With a big year ahead at the club, Revell said she would love to take the sport more seriously.
"I'd love to be competing one day, but that won't be for a while," she said.
