Brigade fired-up for wet rescues
A QUIET start turned into a busy afternoon for Gladstone Fire and Rescue after three callouts at once about 4.30 yesterday afternoon.
There were two crews on duty, which responded to the minor incidents.
The first call was for a minor two-car crash on the corner of Wayne Dr and the Dawson Hwy.
At the same time a crew also responded to a single car crash.
It is reported that a car drove into a ditch on the corner of Port Curtis Way and Mount Larcom Rd.
There was damage to the car but no serious injuries.
The fire crew was then called back to respond to a minor pushbike accident on Glenlyon Rd.
A fire spokesperson attributed the spate of incidents to the wet weather.
For police and ambulance officers, Sunday was a quiet day with no major incidents to report.
