'Flipped several times': Man lucky after Boyne Island crash
UPDATE: Tuesday 3pm: A MAN was lucky to escape with only minor injuries after a single vehicle crash at Boyne Island at 5.41pm on Monday.
Witnesses reported his ute flipped several times before coming to rest only a matter of metres before the Boyne Island Rd/Handley Dr roundabout.
It was also reported that he had been thrown from the vehicle, but only sustained minor injuries including multiple skin abrasions on his right leg.
He also had bruising and complained of back pain.
He was taken to Gladstone Hospital in a stable condition after being worked on by paramedics.
Both lanes of Boyne Island Rd were littered with debris and the outbound lane was closed until 7.15pm.
Police investigations are ongoing.
UPDATE: 7.10pm: Both lanes near the scene of a single vehicle crash at Boyne Island are now open.
A man was attended to by paramedics and transferred to Gladstone Hospital.
Queensland Ambulance Service said the man had no known injuries and was fully conscious and alert, but taken to hospital as a precaution.
EARLIER: 6pm: A UTE has rolled over at Boyne Island at 5.41pm this evening.
The incident occurred near the Boyne Island Rd roundabout connecting Handley Dr and Malpas St across from the Boyne Island Tannum Sands Golf Course.
Police, ambulance and firefighter personnel are currently at the scene.
Ambos are working on someone at the scene. It's understood one occupant was ejected from the vehicle.
Boyne Island Rd is currently closed to outbound traffic heading toward Gladstone with a diversion in place at Handley Dr.
The road is currently littered with debris.
