BREAKING: Beach to stay closed after ANOTHER croc sighting

A CROCODILE has been spotted in the Gladstone Harbour near Spinnaker Park once again this morning.

Someone walking through the park spotted the reptile.

It follows an earlier sighting on Wednesday which prompted the Gladstone Ports Corporation to close Spinnaker Park Beach.

The company confirmed the beach remained closed and was likely to stay closed until after the long weekend.

A Department of Environment and Heritage Protection spokesperson said the crocodile spotted on Wednesday was about 2 to 3 metres long and had not displayed any aggressive behaviour.

Spinnaker Park Beach has been closed until further notice due to a crocodile sighting in the area.

The spokesperson said the department received reports about the crocodile and it was captured on CCTV footage.

"EHP staff have placed "recent sighting" signs at the nearest public access points, and also notified Maritime Safety Queensland," they said.

The crocodile sightings near Spinnaker Park followed a sighting in the Boyne River last week.

A monster 5.2m crocodile was shot dead in the Fitzroy River at Rockhampton recently.
