BOM labels low "non-issue", but some suggest cyclone chance
A WEATHER expert at the Bureau of Meteorology said a low hanging off the Queensland coast is a "non-issue", despite some suggesting it might develop into a tropical cyclone.
Higgins Storm Chasing this morning wrote on Facebook that "computer models suggest" the low, which is in Queensland's north, "may develop into a tropical cyclone".

But bureau meteorologist Michael Knepp said even if it does develop into a cyclone, it won't hit Queensland.
"It has a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone, and if it does, it will move away from the Queensland coast," he said.
"It's really a non-issue at the moment."
