Big BITS Saints announcements
AUSSIE RULES: BITS Saints Football Club has had two massive coups.
The club has signed the services of gun utility Milton Miskin and will host the AFL Capricornia grand final for the first time on September 1.
Miskin played one game for the Saints last year where he held Yeppoon Swan ace Eli Wells to no goals.
He played 18 games for Manunda Hawks last season in the AFL Cairns competition and booted nine goals.
Miskin also had a three-game stint for Caloundra Panthers in the 2018 Queensland Football Association Division One HART Sport Cup league.
He arrived late yesterday afternoon and is likely to play as a key forward against Gladstone Mudcrabs today at 5.30pm.
Saints president Andrew McMahon said the clincher to persuade the AFL Capricornia for the club to host the decider was based on preparation and presentation.
"I think it's our sound business model and I don't believe I left many, if any, stones unturned in my efforts to satisfy the executive that we won't put on a good grand final," he said.
"We will put on an awesome one."
The BITS' grand plan started back in 2013 and McMahon said there have been periodic upgrades ever since.
"The written proposal started in April and submitted two weeks ago and we had an executive meeting last Wednesday night with a Q and A and the approval was given," McMahon said.
He said minor things such as parking and seating would be ironed out before the club's biggest day and night of the year.
