RUGBY LEAGUE: Chelsea Baker has helped Queensland Country finish in third place at the 2018 Harvey Norman Women's National Championship on the Gold Coast.

The Country girls won their opening game 38-0 against Combined Affiliate States with Baker scoring twice and former Calliope player Kody House also finding the line.

Day Two saw the Country side go down 26-0 against New South Wales City, setting up a third-place playoff against Queensland City.

Country won the match 22-20 in a see-sawing encounter that was decided after Baker kicked a sideline conversion from a House try inside the final minute.

Baker, Zeah Lane (Wallabys), Vassa Hunter, Krystal Sulter (Tannum) and House represented Gladstone at the three-day carnival.
