Tannum attempted murder case delayed as lawyers change
A TANNUM Sands man charged with the attempted murder of a 53-year-old woman has had his case adjourned in Gladstone Magistrates Court.
Tyler Melbye, who faces several charges following an incident on October 26, 2012, did not appear in court on Monday when his legal advisors Kenny and Partners withdrew their representation.
AW Bale and Sons will now represent the 23-year-old, who remains in custody, when the case is heard for mention on August 26.
Melbye faces two charges of serious assault, resisting arrest and obstructing a police officer or person acting in aid of a police officer, one charge of assault occasioning bodily harm, a charge of attempted murder, three charges of enter premises and commit an indictable offence, a charge of failing to stop a motor vehicle and a charge of stealing.
Police located Melbye in Townsville three days after an alleged stabbing occurred in Tannum Sands.
The prosecution has prepared a brief of evidence for the attempted murder charge.
