Artists meet with minister at art gallery
THE importance of funding for arts was the main focus of Senator George Brandis' visit to the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum.
The Attorney General and Arts Minister had a tour of the art gallery's current exhibitions, including the display of Ian Watt's impressive collection of vintage instruments, the interactive ACO display and Bimblebox.
Flynn MP Ken O'Dowd joined him at the event, which attracted a crowd of around 20 people.
Art gallery and museum curator Jo Duke said she looked forward to showcasing the exhibitions.
"We are extremely pleased to have the federal minister visit the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum.
"It's nice to be able to chat to him ... he has a keen interest in the arts and I've been interested in finding out more about how his decisions are going to affect us and our commitment to the creative people to our region."
