Archers not wide of mark
ARCHERY: A team of 10 archers from the Gladstone Field Archers attended an invitational shoot hosted by Wide Bay Archers last weekend.
And it was a successful two days for the local archers who competed in two-arrow and one-arrow rounds. Six of the Gladstone competitors finished first in their respective categories with Keith Mattson setting the tone in the men's recurve.
Luke Barwick was first in the cub's recurve while Benny and Caitlin Wyatt topped the list in the boy's and girl's cub's unaided competitions. Fellow youngster Ethan Sagnol was first in the junior longbow.
Zanette Williamson took out first place in the ladies recurve.
"The course was a challenging three-dimensional target range of distances ranging from six to 55-metres which is set in a beautiful bush setting,” Gladstone Field Archers coach TJ Wyatt said. Jay Sagnol (men's longbow), Alex Williamson in cub's recurve and TJ Wyatt, in ladies recurve, took out minor placings.
