New Gladstone airport shuttle bus popular with regions

WORD of mouth has worked well for these Boyne Island entrepreneurs.

Six weeks ago, Leesa Fapani and Cherie Gsheidle gave birth to the idea of running an airport shuttle bus in Gladstone, and it's fair to say the idea has taken off.

"We thought it was a convenient way to get around. You don't need to worry about a hire car," Leesa said.

The 12-seater bus has since provided residents in Boyne Island, Tannum Sands and Calliope with a cheaper alternative when travelling to the airport.

A one-way trip from Boyne Island to Clinton will cost $39 for a single - almost half the cost of a taxi.

The pair came up with the idea when holidaying in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

"I thought the idea would work here because there was a gap in the market. This is something we can provide for people," Leesa said.
