PHOTOS: Ten pets you can adopt this weekend
THIS SUNDAY the Friends of the RSPCA will be hoping to beat last months' record of finding homes for 22 dogs and seven cats.
There will also be about 30 dogs up for adoption and plenty of cats.
Friends of the RSPCA Gladstone president Judy Whicker said families could come along with their own pets.
"We allow people to take a pet home just to see how they interact with their families," she said.
"We will be doing property inspections to see if the people who want to adopt also have the right sized fence for the animals."
All of the animals have been vet checked and vaccinated and desexed if they are old enough.
Dogs over six months old can be adopted for $270 and under six months old at $350.
Betty Bridge will be hosting the cat adoptions at 17 Pams Ct, Beecher.
Are you a cat or a dog person?
This poll ended on 30 June 2015.
Cats for sure.
I love dogs, they're like a best friend.
This is not a scientific poll. The results reflect only the opinions of those who chose to participate.
"We are getting a lot of cats at the moment so Betty will certainly do a deal," Mrs Whicker said.
Some of the dogs up for adoption include australian cattle dog crosses, bull arab crosses and husky crosses.
There is also a three-month-old bull arab cross called Summer that was abandoned on the side of the road in a box.
She is not yet housetrained and loves to have a good chew.
She will grow into a big dog and currently lives with another dog and two cats and is fine playing with them.
The Adoption Day starts at the Adoption Centre at 9am and at Betty Bridge's Beecher home at 10am.
